In 1953, Benny Binion sold the Horseshoe Club to oilman Joe W. Brown before serving a prison sentence for tax evasion. Brown rebranded it as Joe W. Brown's Horseshoe Club, maintaining its reputation for high-stakes gambling and exceptional hospitality. A notable attraction was the display of one million dollars in $10,000 bills, arranged in a horseshoe-shaped case, drawing numerous visitors. After Binion's release in 1957, he gradually regained ownership, and by 1964, the casino returned to its original name, Binion's Horseshoe.
