The Tropics was a renowned vintage tiki bar and restaurant located at 1721 North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. Established in 1954. It became a local favorite for its exotic cocktails, Cantonese and American cuisine, and vibrant live music scene. Despite suffering a fire that gutted the interior at one point, The Tropics was reopened soon afterward. It remained a popular destination until its closure in 1988, and the building was demolished in 1994. Today, The Tropics is remembered as a cherished part of Dayton's mid-century tiki culture.
